Why ENA Foundation
When you give to the ENA Foundation, you contribute to more than just a scholarship or research grant. You’re fueling the future of emergency nursing and the front line of emergency care—a profession that saves lives.
The ENA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization whose mission it is to provide educational scholarships and research grants in the discipline of emergency nursing. Since 1991, the ENA Foundation has provided more than $2.5 million in educational scholarships and research grants to emergency healthcare professionals. We rely on contributions from you to support emergency nursing education and research.
Your contributions help students obtain their nursing degree during a nursing shortage. You make it possible for nurses to earn their advanced practice or terminal degrees which impact the future of emergency nursing practice from helping helping set health policy and best practice, to performing research or teaching at a university. You also make it possible for nurses to attend the largest emergency nursing conference so they can go back and share that knowledge with their colleagues and incite positive change. You assist researchers who are eager to find solutions to some of the biggest issues in emergency care.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO “ENDOW” A FUND WITH THE ENA FOUNDATION?
Endowment funds help secure the ongoing future of the ENA Foundation by providing continual support. Endowment gifts are retained in perpetuity and cannot be spent; the investment earnings from the endowed funds provides annual awards to recipients. The amount awarded each year is dependent on the ENA Foundation’s spending policy, which is developed to provide a predictable stream of funding. While each endowed fund is accounted separately, each fund’s balance is pooled with other ENA Foundation endowment funds, increasing its potential for investment return while further strengthening its earning potential.
HOW CAN I SET UP AN ENDOWED FUND WITH THE ENA FOUNDATION?
Endowed funds may be initiated with a gift of any amount and a signed agreement to fully fund the endowment within five years. Endowments are frequently funded by cash gifts, but they may also be funded by transfers of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, and other types of property. Gifts toward endowed scholarships may also be made by bequest. Please contact the ENA Foundation for additional information or assistance.
How You Can Help
Thank you for making the ENA Foundation one of your charities of choice. We routinely hear from our scholarship and grant recipients who express the deepest gratitude for the education and research opportunities are afforded through the ENA Foundation.
Please consider making a gift to the ENA Foundation annually, so we can continue to fund the future of the profession. Your contribution makes a difference.
From now through May 31, 2018, we will be accepting contributions that will go toward helping the best and the brightest achieve their goals.
Is your state ready for the challenge?
State Fundraising Challenge
The 2018 State Fundraising Challenge has begun! The goal this year is $130,000.00
ENA state councils and local chapters wage a friendly competition each year in support of the future of emergency nursing. In fact, the ENA State Fundraising Challenge is the ENA Foundation’s largest source of funding! The Challenge has a new theme each year, and state councils and chapters plan local fundraising drives and events centered around the theme. States that raise $5,000 or more have the privilege of naming their own academic scholarship the following year.
